Prehistoric Sites in the Lizard
Maps > The Lizard
Map of all known ancient sites in the Lizard, West Cornwall.
All sites are carefully checked and accurately located on the map, to the same level of accuracy as a ten-digit map reference. The map highlights sites from the neolithic, bronze and iron ages. Some sites such as single hut circles (roundhuts), isolated cists (graves or repositories) and findspots (of deposited artefacts) are omitted, to avoid clutter.
This map shows all verifiable ancient sites in West Cornwall, drawn from a variety of sources, mentioned below. It also shows probable sites - they exist, but there might be a quandary over what precisely they are or their remains are insufficient to identify reliably, or they are known only by documentary and not field evidence.
